WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Overdose call leads to endangerment charges

On February 27, 2017 at about 10:48pm, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Route 19a in the Town of Castile to assist with an overdose call.

Deputies arrived on location along with Castile Fire and Rescue.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Chelsie Simonds, 24 of Batavia, and Ronald Sachanowski, 31 of Silver Springs, had been using an illegal substance in the residence while their 2 year old child was present.

Both Sachanowski and Simonds were arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and released with appearance tickets and will return to the Town of Castile Court at a later date.

 

Melissa A. Sachanowski, 33, of Orangeville, is facing numerous charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Sheldon on February 20, 2017.

Sachanowski was pulled over after she was observed failing to maintain her driving lane numerous times and failed to dim her high beams to on-coming traffic.

Following a roadside investigation, Sachanowski was found to be in possession of subutex, a controlled substance similar to suboxone.

Sachanowski was arrested and charged with failure to keep right, failure to dim high beams, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.

Sachanowski was released with appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.

 

The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two car motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Town of Castile on Rt. 39 on February 27, 2017 about 4:30p.m.

During the course of the investigation, one of the driver’s involved in the accident was found to be driving while intoxicated.

Zachary W. Blackmon, 30, of Perry was traveling southbound on Rt. 39 when he struck another vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and following roadside field sobriety testing, Blackmon was placed under arrest for DWI.

Blackmon was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he provided a positive breath sample. He is charged with speed not reasonable and prudent, following too closely, driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .08% or greater and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th.

Blackmon was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Castile Court for March 20th, 2017.

 

Sabrina A. Dietz, 33 of Nunda was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd on February 26, 2017, following a traffic stop in the Town of Perry.

Dietz was stopped by a Sheriff’s Deputy after she was observed using a portable electronic device while driving.

Dietz was found to have a suspended license due to a failure to answer a summons in the Town of Covington. She is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd and use of a portable electronic device.

A valid driver was called to the scene to remove the vehicle and Dietz will answer her charges at a later date in the Town of Perry Court.
