GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Deputies track down Batavia man who ran over a fire hydrant and drove away

Sheriff’s Deputies were able to track down the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run property damage accident at 3599 Galloway road in Batavia early this morning.

John E Jaszko Jr., 31, of Kelsey Rd., Batavia is charged with DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, refusal to take a breath test, driving to the left of pavement markings/no passing zone and no/inadequate headlamps after striking a fire hydrant and leaving the scene. The hydrant was sheared off and found laying on the side of the road.

Deputies were able to follow tire tracks in fresh snow and located Jaszko’s vehicle on Kelsey road.

Jaszko was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and released on recognizance. He will re-appear in court on April 11, 2017 at 1:00p.m.

 

 

Leonard E. Aguayo, aka “LB”, 30, of Affinity Lane, Rochester has been charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd and criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, both class B felonies, after he allegedly sold a quantity of crack cocaine to an agent of the Genesee County Local Drug Task Force in February of 2017.

Aguayo was arrested at the jail where he was already incarcerated on other unrelated drug charges.

He was arraigned in City Court on the new charges and then jailed without bail.

Uniformed members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office assisted Task Force members with the investigation.

 

Jeffrey A. Youngs, 66, of Montclair Ave., Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, inadequate headlamps, drivers view obstructed and open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop at 3330 Broadway road in Alexander.

Youngs was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Alexander Court on April 4, 2017 at 5:00p.m.

 

Salvatore M. Schwable, 19, of Webber St., Oakfield, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operator and inadequate headlamp after a traffic stop at 8484 Rt. 77 in the Town of Pembroke on March 12, 2017.

Schwable was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Pembroke Town Court on April 18, 2017 at 4:30p.m.

 

 

Timothy K. Smythe, 23, of South St. Rd., LeRoy is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, no/inadequate headlamp, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd and unregistered vehicle on the highway following a traffic stop at 128 West Main Street in LeRoy on March 11, 2017.

Smythe is scheduled to appear in the Town of LeRoy Court on April 17, 2017 at 1:00p.m.

 

Sean A. Semprie Jr., 24, of Starling St., Rochester, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in relation to another complaint at 8210 Park road on March 11, 2017.

After the smell of marijuana was noticed coming from the vehicle, a vehicle search was conducted and a quantity of marijuana was located.

Semprie was processed and released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on March 30, 2017 at 1:00p.m.
