WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Four people facing drug charges after traffic stop

Four individuals were arrested following a traffic stop on Rt. 362 in the Town of Wethersfield on May 15, 2017.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies performed a traffic stop on Rt. 362 for a vehicle that was observed weaving into the oncoming lane.

During the traffic stop, deputies recovered three glassine bags containing heroin, nine glassine bags with heroin residue, two used hypodermic syringes, seven unused hypodermic syringes, and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia items.

Nicholas A. O’Connor, 26, of Caneadea, NY, Ruth M. O’Connor, 37, of Caneadea, NY, Dayton C. Ewell, 25, of Bliss and Tami A. Unterburger, 21, of Bliss were all arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, and criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd.

Ruth M. O’Connor, the driver, was also issued a traffic ticket for failure to keep right.

All four were processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office before being released to a sober third party.  They are scheduled to answer the charges on June 6, 2017 in the Town of Wethersfield Court.

 

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Previty performed a traffic stop on Britany M. Copeland for failure to keep right on Sowerby Rd. in the Town of Perry on May 14, 2017.

Further investigation showed that Copeland was driving while intoxicated.  She was arrested for D.W.I. and transported to the Perry Police Department for a breath test.

Deputy Previty issued the following uniform traffic tickets:

Failed to Keep Right

D.W.I.

D.W.I. .08% or more B.A.C.

Aggravated D.W.I. .18% B.A.C. or Higher

Copeland was released to a sober third party and is to appear in the Town of Perry Court on a later date.
