Scott A. Moulton, 45, of Linwood Ave., Warsaw, was arrested following a traffic stop on Wyoming Road in the Town of Covington on May 26, 2017.
Moulton was the driver of a 2001 Saturn which was stopped for a speeding infraction that occurred on Rt. 19 in the Town of Covington. During the traffic stop, Moulton displayed signs of drug use and Moulton failed roadside field sobriety testing.
After Moulton’s arrest, Deputy Michael Wade of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, with his K-9 Partner Hondo, assisted with a vehicle search.
K-9 Hondo alerted to the front hood area of the vehicle, and a subsequent search of the engine compartment led to the discovery of 31 glassine bags containing heroin which were hidden inside the air filter housing.
Moulton was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he underwent a drug influence evaluation by a certified Drug Recognition Expert.
Moulton was found to be impaired by multiple drug categories following the evaluation.
He is charged with DWAI/drugs, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs, failure to notify DMV of change of address, and speeding in a zone.
Moulton is also charged with a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd for possessing a narcotic drug with intent to sell.
Moulton was arraigned in Warsaw Court where he was remanded to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or bond. He is scheduled to return to the Town of Covington Court on June 19, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. for further proceedings.
David A. McClurg, 49, of Smith Rd., Perry, was arrested following a traffic stop on Suckerbrook Road in the Town of Perry on May 27, 2017.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office made this arrest while participating in a Memorial Day Weekend DWI Crackdown Patrol.
McClurg was stopped after being observed making an unsafe turn into the oncoming lane, swerving off the right hand side of the roadway, and then swerving back over the center line of the roadway on Suckerbrook Road.
McClurg failed roadside field sobriety testing, and he was taken into custody. McClurg’s vehicle was then towed from the scene.
He was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with DWI, driving with .08% BAC or higher, and failed to keep right.
McClurg was released to a sober third party, and he is scheduled to appear in the Town of Perry Court on June 21, 2017.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two car motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 78 at the intersection of Youngers Road in the Town of Java on May 27, 2017.
A vehicle being operated by Stephen Trottier, 41, of Ontario, Canada, was traveling south on Youngers Road, failed to yield the right of way after the stop sign and collided with a vehicle being operated by a subject from Fillmore, NY that was traveling westbound on Route 78.
There were 3 passengers that sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by North Java Ambulance, Bliss Ambulance and Medic 80 Ambulance to ECMC and Childrens Hospital in Buffalo.
Trottier was issued a uniform traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way/stop sign and is to appear in Java Town Court in July.
