BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Woman walking dogs struck by vehicle, dogs die in accident

UPDATE From Police:

Batavia Police are investigating a motor vehicle / pedestrian accident which occurred on Allen Street at approximately 3:16 PM on 05/27/2017.

It appears a gold Ford Taurus was heading eastbound on Allen St when it left the roadway, went over the curb and onto the sidewalk striking a 32 year old female and her two dogs.

The female was with her son, but was able to push him out of the way prior to being struck by the vehicle. The vehicle struck another parked vehicle and then crashed into a telephone pole. The operator of the vehicle fled the scene but later returned.

The driver is suspected to be a juvenile and took the vehicle without the owners permission.

The medical status of the female is not known at this time.

The dogs were deceased.

Further information will not be released at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.

Batavia Police responded to 11 Allen street a little after 3 p.m. on Saturday May 27, 2017  for a personal injury accident where a woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle. According to police, a  juvenile driver struck a pole and a woman walking her dogs.

Police say the woman suffered a leg injury and was transported to UMMC, her dogs died in the incident.

The pole was sheared in the accident.

Police are not releasing the name of the driver in the incident and are continuing to investigate.

 

Kiha S. McNear, 19, of Walnut Ave., Batavia, is charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest after a reported disturbance at 129 Jackson street on May 27, 2017.

McNear was observed acting in a violent and tumultuous way by police.

He was taken into custody after a brief physical altercation.

McNear was arraigned in City Court and jailed on $1,000 cash or bond bail and will appear in City Court later today.

 

Katrina L. Thigpen, 34, of Thorpe St., Batavia, is charged with offering to file a false instrument 1st and issuing a false financial statement with intent to defraud after providing the Genesee County Probation Dept. with false NYS and Federal tax return information

Thigpen was issued an appearance ticket and released.

She is scheduled to appear in City Court on May 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

 

 

Alan P. Ellis, 36, of Woodstock Gardens, Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd/violating a valid order of protection, on May 26, 2017.

Ellis allegedly sent text messages to a protected party in a violation of an order of protection.

Ellis was arraigned in City Court and jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail.

 

Paul E. Tenney, 71, of East Morganville Rd., Stafford, turned himself in on a bench warrant for NYS Fire Code violations at 198 Ellicott street.

Tenney was issued an appearance ticket and released.

He will appear in City Court later today.

 

Phillip  S. Pompey, 28, of Lark St., Buffalo, was arrested on an arrest warrant out of City Court on May 27, 2017 for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd.

Pompey was arraigned and will appear in City Court later today.
