GENESEE COUNTY/Local law enforcement support Special Olympics in torch run

Over a dozen law enforcement officers took part in a torch run in support of the Special Olympics with a 7 mile run from the ARC Day Habilitation Center on Barrville road to the ARC Work Center on Walnut street in Batavia Wednesday morning.

Coordinator of the event, Inv. Chad Minuto of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office says, “It’s good to see a good turn out this year, a lot of young kids from the County have now joined us at the Sheriff’s Office and the Jail, so good to have support this year.”

A representative from the ARC started the torch run in Elba and handed it off to officers to finish the race.

Officers representing local, state and federal facilities in Genesee County participated.

ARC Genesee/Orleans provided a picnic lunch to the runners at the Walnut street location.
