BATAVIA/Youth development day for the Batavia Soccer Club

NYS West Youth Soccer held a Youth Development Day at Batavia Sports Park Saturday afternoon.

“We are out here to educate the parents, the coaches and the clubs and show them some different strategies and thought processes,” says Scott Craig, Assistant Technical Director with NYS West Youth Soccer Association.

“This is so the coaches and parents can do it themselves out there so the kids can learn long term.”

The NYS West Youth Soccer Association oversees the entire upstate region and has about 220 soccer clubs that use them as their resource tool for risk management, insurance backgrounds and youth development.

Kids from the ages of 6-10 participated in the event which helped with basic development aspects like dribbling, passing and receiving the ball along with movement of the ball.
