Alexandria L. Finnefrock, 24, appeared in the Town of Murray Court Wednesday evening to be formerly arraigned.
Finnefrock and her 21/2 year old son Joseph Theo Williams went missing on July 6, 2017.
“She left her father’s home with her young child and despite efforts to make contact with her, the family was unable to do so, so red flags went up,” says Joseph Cardone, District Attorney/Orleans County.
On July 11, 2017, Finnefrock and her son were both located unharmed by police in Rochester. After being located, Finnefrock was arrested on a warrant for endangering the welfare of a child and her son was turned over to her father. She was then jailed on $5,000 bail.
Finnefrock appeared in court with her family and with her father by her side at the bench asking Judge Passarell for leniency.
According to Dominic Saraceno, Finnefrock’s Attorney, the charge of endangering the welfare of a child is only an allegation. Finnefrock says the child was properly cared for.
“Based upon some of the circumstances we learned, the time that had passed and the fact that the child may not have been cared for properly during some of that time, that is the basis of the charge,” says Cardone.
After issuing a stay away order on Tuesday night, Judge Passarell modified the order on Wednesday evening, allowing Finnefrock to have contact with her son.
“She just can’t have any offensive contact with the child,” says her attorney.
“That includes harassing annoying, alarming or threatening behavior.”
Finnefrock also agreed to a substance abuse evaluation to see if she has a drug or alcohol problem.
She will re-appear on August 9, 2017 at 5:30 to update the court if treatment is necessary.
