With a passion for education and the people of WNY, Nicholas Stankevich of Mumford announced he is running for the 27th Congressional District of WNY currently being held by Republican Chris Collins.
Stankevich received the endorsement of City of Batavia School Board President Patrick Burk at Batavia High School today after touring the school and talking to students there.
Stankevich is seeking the Democratic Party’s endorsement in the race against Republican Chris Collins.
Stankevich is from Elma and is currently living in Mumford assisting his family in the running of their small business the Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast. He is currently working on building a hydropower renewable energy source that will serve the Inn and many surrounding neighbors.
Stankevich graduated from Iroquois Central Schools in Elma and began his college education at SUNY Oswego and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies and Business Administration. He achieved his MBA from Pepperdine University with a focus on entrepreneurship , leadership and strategy.
Stankevich throws his hat into the political ring along with Sean Bunny who announced his run last week.
Stankevich says we must conserve and invest in our environment and create jobs in renewable energy, creating a new energy economic plan that enhances employment opportunities and protecting the communities in which we live.
“We know that we are living in an economic system that is not working for us and will not work for our children.”
