WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Attica man accused of bringing drugs into jail

David Eck, 24, of Attica, was arrested after Jail Sergeant Forsyth located contraband in Eck’s possession at the Wyoming County Jail on October 25, 2017.

Eck was arraigned in the Town of Perry Court by Justice Bogert.

He is charged with promoting prison contraband 1st and possession of a controlled substance 7th.

Eck was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.  He is to appear in the Village of Warsaw Court on October 30, 2017 to answer his charges.

 

 

On October 20, 2017, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one car rollover motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Pee Dee Road and Youngers Road in the Town of Java.

Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the driver and sole occupant, David J. Hyland, 53, of Rochester, N.Y.

Deputies could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Hyland. Hyland stated that he was not injured during the accident and refused any medical treatment.

Hyland also refused to take any field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. He is charged with unsafe lane change, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to take a breath test and DWI.

Hyland was arraigned in Sheldon Town Court and was released on his own recognizance.  His driving privilege was suspended at court.

Hyland is to answer the charges at a later date in Java Town Court.
