After engaging in an altercation with another person at a residence on Knowlesville road in Alabama on November 3, 2017, Paul R. Hoffman is charged with assault 2nd, strangulation 2nd and unlawful imprisonment 2nd.
Hoffman allegedly struck the other person with a hammer, choked them to the point of unconsciousness and prevented them from leaving.
Hoffman then allegedly called 9-1-1 requesting medical attention for the person due to an unknown medical condition.
He was arraigned in the Town of Oakfield Court and jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail.
The victim was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained and then released.
