WYOMING COUNTY/House fire in Pike causes $25,000 in damage

Six fire companies responded to a house fire Monday afternoon at 6874 Albro road in the Town of Pike.

According to Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, the fire was caused by the failure of a wood burning stove chimney. The estimated loss is $25,000. The house is owned by Robert Ferrin Sr.

The Red Cross is assisting four adults after the fire.

Fire companies from Pike, Bliss, Gainesville, Castile, Arcade and Nunda were on scene for about two hours. Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services , Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, NYS Police, RG&E and the Red Cross.

No one was injured.
