WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF REPORT/Silver Springs man accused of crashing into a house and leaving the scene

On December 10, 2017 at 9:40p.m., the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to North Main Street in the Village of Silver Springs for the report of a vehicle that crashed into a house and the driver was missing.

The Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the NYS Parks Police, located a pickup truck that had driven off the roadway and came to rest next to a house. The owner of the vehicle was located and through investigation it was determined that Mark D. Aubert, 59, of Silver Springs, had been operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Aubert was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Aubert is charged with unsafe backing, driving while intoxicated, and driving with a BAC of .08% or more. Aubert was released on his own recognizance and will return to the Village of Silver Springs Court at a later date.

Also assisting at the scene was Ott’s Collision and National Fuel.

 

 

On November 30, 2017, a deputy for the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol and observed a vehicle being operated on North Main Street in the Village of Perry with a headlight out.

The vehicle was stopped by the deputy.

Andrew E. Cox, 23, of Warsaw, was operating the vehicle. At the start of the investigation, Cox supplied the name of a relative for identification due to Cox having a revoked license for DWI. Cox’s true identity was determined and he was subsequently arrested. While being searched by deputies, Cox was also found to be in possession of Suboxone, which is a controlled substance.

Cox is charged with inadequate headlamps, inadequate muffler, aggravated unlicensed operating third and second degree, criminal impersonation second degree, operation without an interlock device, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. Cox was arraigned in the Village of Perry Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Officer Tim Bryant and Officer Mark Milhollen of the Perry Police Department assisted with the arrest.
