The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred at 12:25p.m. Thursday afternoon on Rt. 33 in Stafford.
The accident occurred between Mill road and Caswell road.
A 2004 Acura TSX, operated by Tracy B. Carpenter, 54, of Oakfield, was eastbound on Rt. 33 when the vehicle traveled across the center line and into the westbound lane, colliding with a 2007 Western Star tractor trailer that was westbound. The tractor trailer was being operated by Fay B. Warner, 67, of Geneseo.
Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene, Warner was not injured.
Weather was not a factor in the accident and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The crash is being investigated by Deputies Jenna Ferrando, Joseph Loftus and Christopher Erion, as well as the Genesee County Crash Reconstruction Unit.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, Byron Volunteer Fire Department, South Byron Volunteer Fire Department, Bergen Fire Department, Mercy EMS, Genesee County Coroner Donald Coleman and the NYS Police.
