BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/Craigslist scammer now facing a weapons charge

Jaequele M. Tomlin, 23, of Central Ave., Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd in connection with an ongoing investigation into Craigslist scams.

Tomlin was allegedly in possession of a blunt force weapon with the intent to use against another, the weapon was not used against any person.

He was arraigned in City Court and held on $10,000 cash bail and $20,000 bond bail and will appear in City Court again on February 15, 2018.

It is alleged that Tomlin and  Quamane J. Santiago posted a false “Vehicle for Sale” ad on Craigslist with the intent to rob any would be buyers. Concerned citizens alerted police to the post and the suspects’ suspicious behavior in mid January. Santiago and Tomlin were taken into custody by members of the Batavia Police Department and the Genesee County Drug Task Force. During their apprehension, both suspects were found to be in possession of replica firearms.

 

A 16 year old male was arrested and charged with menacing 2nd and endangering the welfare of a child following an altercation on January 21, 2018 in the City of Batavia (no location provided), where the teen allegedly threatened another male with a knife.

The teen was arraigned in City Court on January 25, 2018.

 

 

Olivia A. Rivera- Ellis, 19, of Ellsworth Ave., Batavia,, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after an incident that occurred on January 3, 2018.

Rivera-Ellis was arrested January 25, 2018 and issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on January 30, 2018 at 1:00p.m.

 

 

Stephanie M. Wentworth, 32, of Augusta St., Rochester, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of City Court following her failure to appear on a previous court date. Wentworth was arraigned in City Court on January 25, 2018 and held on bail. She will re-appear on February 8, 2018 at 9:30a.m.

 

 

Rajea S. Thomas, 29, of Sutorius Dr., Rochester, was arrested on a bench warrant out of City Court on January 26, 2018.

Thomas turned himself in upon finding out that he had a warrant.

He was arraigned in City Court and released on recognizance and will re-appear in court on March 6, 2018 at 1:30p.m.
