Press release

Warsaw, NY, March 16, 2018 – Late Tuesday, March 13, 2018, a modular building that will house the new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit was moved into place with the help of a 35 ton crane at the Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS). The building was pre-fabricated in Indiana and made a multi-day road trip to Warsaw, prior to installation.

The 1,000 square foot modular building will be permanently installed and attached to the Hospital by a corridor connecting a new waiting area inside the Hospital with the MRI building. The modular building and upgraded MRI will replace the current MRI that is located inside a mobile trailer parked on the back side of the Hospital and requires entrance through an outside corridor.

The new suite will provide increased patient comfort and has the technology benefits of an upgraded MRI unit. The primary reasons for the addition include increased physician utilization and demand for imaging services, increased patient volume and scheduling flexibility. The total cost of the project including the modular building, site work, and MRI unit is anticipated to be approximately $1.6 million and the project completion is expected for mid-April 2018.
