PERRY POLICE REPORT/Perry man ticketed after looking for a new car for his girlfriend

On April 7, 2018, at 10:40 p.m., Officer Harding was patrolling in the McClurg Chrysler dealership lot at 125 N. Center street when he observed a vehicle parked and still running.

Officer Harding waited for the vehicle to exit the lot and proceeded to follow the vehicle to its residence on Benedict Street.

Officer Harding checked with the vehicle operator for the reason he was at the dealership lot at such late hours.

Rhett Stuart,43, of Perry was identified as the driver, stated that he was looking at new vehicles for his girlfriend. Officer Harding was gathering information, just in case there were any reports of damage at the dealership. After running a license check on Stuart’s license, it was discovered that Stuart was suspended for insurance not in effect.

Officer Harding processed Stuart’s arrest roadside and issued a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree. He was released with an appearance ticket and is due to appear in the Village of Perry Court on May 8, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.

 

 

On April 15, 2018, at 12:05 p.m., Officer Harding was patrolling on North Main Street when he observed a vehicle with no license plate displayed.

A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in front of 18 N. Main Street.

Timothy Orlando, 52, of Mt. Morris, was identified as the driver of the vehicle and stated that the plate must have fallen out of the back window during his travels, as it was a dealer plate.

A license check on Orlando revealed he had a suspended license for failure to answer a summons in the Town of LeRoy.

Orlando was arrested for driving on a suspended license and issued tickets for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd and no license plate displayed. He was released with appearance tickets and is due to appear in the Village of Perry Court on May 8, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
