BATAVIA/Thorpe Street shooting suspect sentenced to 15 years in prison

Tyshawn K. King, 25, of Maple Street, Batavia, was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 5 years post-release supervision for shooting a male victim last year on Maple street.

Police were called to the area of Thorpe Street and Maple Street on September 20, 2017 for a fight where a gunshot was heard.

Upon arrival, Police found the victim who had a gunshot wound to his hand and abdomen. A short time later, King was located and taken into custody without incident.

King pleaded guilty to the charge of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd on February 27, 2018, and was sentenced on April 27, 2018.
