WYOMING COUNTY/Arcade man dies after April accident in Sheldon

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 15, 2018, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one car motor vehicle accident on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Alvin Petry, 86, of Arcade, was traveling westbound on Route 20A when he drove off the road and crashed into a tree off the north side of the roadway. Petry was transported to the Wyoming County Community Hospital by the Varysburg Ambulance for suspected torso injuries. Petry was later transferred to the Erie County Medical Center for further evaluation.

On May 2, 2018, Petry succumbed to his injuries.
