The Town of Barre is celebrating 200 years and held a bicentennial celebration parade on Saturday morning that celebrated farming life from 1818-2018.
The Barre bicentennial celebration brought a small farming community of 2200 people together for a three day celebration this weekend.
After 3 years of planning the event, and digging up some history about the beginnings of the small town, Town Supervisor Sean Pogue says they will be planning a yearly event that brings the community together more often.
Pogue says a lot of people worked behind the scenes to make the bicentennial a success and a sense of community and pride have brought people closer together.
