STATE POLICE/Teacher at Wyoming Correctional Facility arrested for smuggling a cell phone for an inmate


On July 19, 2018, New York State Police out of State Police/Warsaw arrested Elaina S. Freeman, 30, of Buffalo, for promoting prison contraband in the 1st degree and official misconduct.

Freeman was employed as a teacher at Wyoming Correctional Facility, Attica, NY during 2017 when she smuggled a cellphone into the facility for use by an inmate. The investigation was also conducted by NYSDOCCS, Office of Special Investigation.

Freeman was arraigned in Wyoming County Court today and was released to appear in court in August of 2018.
