WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two arrested for possessing unstamped cigarettes after being pulled over for a cell phone infraction

Two suspects were arrested following a traffic stop on Route 63 in the Town of Covington on July 18, 2018.

Marion Conley, 43, of Hornell, NY, was pulled over for a cell phone infraction and during the stop, Conley, along with her passenger John R. Cook, Jr.,50, of Bath, NY, were found to possess seventeen cartons of unstamped cigarettes and an illegal billy club.

The maximum allowed unstamped cigarettes allowed is two cartons per person. Cook was also found to be on NYS Parole.

Conley is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th, unlawful possession of unstamped cigarettes, operating a motor Vehicle while using a mobile phone and failure to notify DMV of address change.

Cook is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th and unlawful possession of unstamped cigarettes.

Both suspects were released after being processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and are scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Covington Court on August 13, 2018.

 

A Batavia woman was arrested on a Wyoming County Superior Court Warrant after turning herself in at the Genesee County Jail in Batavia on July 18, 2018.
Dekota Leiser, 26, of Batavia was transported to Warsaw and was committed to the Wyoming County Jail on no bail until the next County Court is in session for arraignment.
