WYOMING COUNTY/Perry Police Report/Man jailed after allegedly being found with cocaine

 

On Friday August 17, 2018, in the Village of Perry at about 9:30a.m., Officer Spink of the Perry Police Department was assisting the Oneida Indians Nations Police with a follow up investigation.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the suspect, 23 year old, Michael Taylor of Perry, New York, allegedly had what was believed to be a controlled substance in his possession. Officer Spink performed a NIK test (field presumptive test) on the substance which showed a positive test for cocaine.

Officer Spink placed Taylor under arrest for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Taylor was arraigned in Perry Village Court in front of Honorable Bogart and committed to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash, $25,000 property bond.

Taylor will return to court on September 11, 2018 at 1:00p.m.

 

On Saturday August 18, 2018, at about 9:30p.m,, Officers performed a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in the Village of Perry for multiple equipment violations.

Upon stopping the vehicle, it was found that the driver of the vehicle, 46 year old Richard Robinson of Batavia, New York, was allegedly operating a motor vehicle under impairment.

Robinson was asked to perform field sobriety tests and performed poorly on the tests, Robinson was placed under arrest in the Village of Perry. A drug recognition evaluation was performed by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, and it was found that Robinson was allegedly impaired by more than one type of drug.

Officers charged Robinson with DWAI/Drugs and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs Special.

Robinson was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and ticketed for the equipment violations.

Robinson was released on appearance tickets and will appear in court on September 11, 2018 at 1:00p.m. to answer the charges.
