HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL/Batavia knocks off Attica in last game at Van Detta Stadium

90 years ago, on September 29, 1928, the Batavia Blue Devils played their first football game at Woodward field against Medina and won 31-0.

This evening the 2018 Blue Devils played their last game at Van Detta Stadium against the Attica Blue Devils and won 49-6.

The stadium, field and track will undergo a complete make over by the fall of 2019.

On Friday night, Batavia dominated the other Blue Devils from Attica in front of alumni, friends and fans.

Ray Leach put on a show in the first half scoring three touchdowns.

One TD in the second quarter, an 86 yard run, put the Batavia Blue Devils up 27-0.

Also scoring in the first half Alex Rood and quarterback Ethan Biscaro, capping off a great run by Taiyo Iburi-Bethel.

Batavia is now 5-0 and Attic drops to 3-2.

Batavia will travel to Wellsvills next week and Attica will play at home against Avon.
