GENESEE COUNTY/Batavia woman arrested in Alexander after allegedly going through vehicles now facing felony charges

Haley M. Merrill, 26, of 434 East Main St., Batavia, is now facing felony charges after being arrested on October 13, 2018 in Alexander after allegedly going through vehicles.

Merrill  was originally charged  with criminal possession of stolen property 5th after her arrest.

Upon entering the jail, Merrill allegedly provided false information, a false identity, in an attempt to benefit herself.

Merrill is accused of signing 10 written instruments issued and maintained in the normal course of business records under a false identification.

On October 16, 2018, Merrill was arrested and arraigned in City Court on 10 counts of forgery 2nd, a felony, 10 counts of offering false instrument for filing 1st, a felony and 10 counts of criminal impersonation 2nd. She was then jailed without bail and re-appeared in court on October 17, 2018.

The incident was investigated by Deputy Ryan DeLong and Senior Correction Officer Matthew Burgett with assistance from Deputies Lute, McCarthy, Forsyth and McClellan.
