The Alexander Trojans remain unbeaten as they entered sectional play on Friday evening at home, defeating Red Jacket 25-12 in a quarterfinal game.
In the first quarter, the Trojans held a 7-0 lead on a Ty Woods run into the end zone, but the game was up for grabs.
In the 2nd quarter, Hayden Walton gave the Trojans a 13-0 lead, but late in the quarter Chase Rizzo caught a long pass from quarterback Matt Record to make the score 13-6.
The Trojans responded with pass to Ty Woods with 23 seconds remaining to make the score 19-6 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, Logan Keifer crossed the goal line and made the game interesting at 19-12 early in the 4th.
Late in the 4th, Chase Rizzo intercepted the ball and gave the Indians a chance to tie it up, but Red Jacket was unable to move the ball down the field and with 1:48 left in the game, Chris McClinic scampered down the field 36 yards to seal the win for Alexander, making the score 25-12.
The Trojans will play #4 Perry /Mt. Morris in the semi final next Saturday at Cal Mum High school at 4:00p.m.
