GENESEE COUNTY/Two men taken into custody after early morning incident

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office received  a report of a person being threatened by a known subject in the early morning hours of October 22, 2018. During the investigation of the incident, a portion of Rt. 63 between Veteran’s Memorial Drive and Galloway road was closed to traffic for about 4 hours.

The City of Batavia Police Emergency Response Team assisted with taking two subjects, who were residents of 8019 Rt. 63, into custody.

Kevin M. Fossum, 52, is charged with aggravated harassment 2nd and menacing 2nd.

Charles L. Beach Sr., 50, is charged with menacing 2nd.

Both were taken into custody without incident.

Fossum allegedly made threats during a phone conversation with another person and then a short time later, both men went to a residence in the Town of Alabama and threatened the same person while reportedly in possession of weapons. The involved parties were known to each other.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Alabama Court. Fossum is being held on $7,500 bail and Beach Sr. is being held on $5,000 bail.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the City of Batavia Emergency Response Team as well as the Orleans County Emergency Response Team and the NYS Police.
