High School Football/Section 5/Attica will play Letchworth/Warsaw in the Class C final

The Attica Blue Devils advanced to the Class C finals in Section 5 football by defeating the ER/Gananda Bombers 21-14 at HFL on Saturday afternoon.

Dawson Nelson recovered a fumble in the first quarter that led to a 39 yard touchdown run by Edward Strzelec to give the Blue Devils the early lead.

In the 2nd quarter, the Bombers responded with quarterback Corwin Cleveland crossing the goal line and then Jayden Castrechini added two points to make the score 8-6.

With 1:20 left in the first half, Castrechini made it 14-6 .

In the 2nd half Attica made another fumble recovery late in the 3rd quarter that led to a Zachary Strzelec touchdown to make the score 12-14.

Mason Compton added two points in the conversion and Attica tied the game at 14-14 with about 30 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter.

With :21seconds left in the game, Zachary Strzelec caught a long pass from his brother Edward to bring the ball down to the 10 yard line.

Mason Compton then finished off the play with a run to the endzone with 17 seconds remaining.

Jacob Gross intercepted the hail Mary pass by the Bombers and the game ended with Attica on top 21-14.

The Blue Devils(5) will meet Letchworth/Warsaw(3) next Saturday at 5:00p.m. at St. John Fisher in the Class C final.
