WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Felon found with shotgun during traffic stop

Kevin A. Wightman, 50, of Nunda, was arrested following a traffic stop on Pike Street in the Town of Genesee Falls on December 14, 2018.

Wightman was stopped for traffic infractions and during the traffic stop, Wightman was found to have a suspended drivers license and a suspended vehicle registration.

Wightman also failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DWI. A vehicle search led to the discovery of a 12 gauge shotgun inside Wightman’s vehicle. Through investigation, it was found that Wightman was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony conviction.

Wightman is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th, DWI, driving with .08% BAC or higher, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, operating with a suspended registration, insufficient turn signal, inadequate plate lamps, and failure to keep right.

He was arraigned in the Town of Genesee Falls Court where bail was set in the amount of $500.00 cash or $3,000.00 bond. Wightman was held in the Wyoming County Jail to await a January 15, 2019 return court date in Genesee Falls Town Court.

On December 17, 2018, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raphael R. Seabury Jr., 34, of Buffalo NY, on a bench warrant for failure to appear.

Seabury failed to appear on his scheduled court date for numerous vehicle and traffic law summons’. Seabury was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. Seabury is to return to court for further action on January 7, 2019.

Becky J. Pettigrew, 47, of Castile, was arrested following a traffic stop on School Road in the Town of Gainesville on December 14, 2018.

Pettigrew was stopped for traffic infractions and found to have been consuming alcohol while driving. Pettigrew failed field sobriety testing and was taken into custody.

During a search, Pettigrew was found to be in unlawful possession of hydrocodone, lorazepam, and marijuana. Pettigrew was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where she was administered a breath test which resulted in a positive result.

Pettigrew is charged with DWI, driving with .08% BAC or more, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th i(two counts), inadequate muffler, failure to keep right, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Pettigrew was released to a family member and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Gainesville Court on January 14, 2018.

Walter E. Hinckley, III, 40, of Caneadea, NY  was arrested following a traffic stop on Liberty Street in the Village of Arcade on December 12, 2018.

Hinckley was stopped for a traffic infraction, and during the course of the traffic stop he was found to have two active suspensions on his NYS driver’s license.

Hinckley was also found to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. He was arrested, his vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was taken to the Arcade Police Department for further testing.

Hinckley performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing, and was arrested for DWAI/drugs. He was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert from the Arcade Police Department, and he was determined to be impaired by cannabis.

Hinckley is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, unlawful possession of marijuana, uninspected motor vehicle and failure to notify DMV of change of address.

Hinckley was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and then released to a family member. He is scheduled to answer the charges in the Village of Arcade Court on January 10, 2019.

Deputy Nowak responded to 3635 Route 78 in the Town of Sheldon (Red Apple) for a subject that was stealing items for the store on November 29, 2018.

Deputy Nowak arrived on location and spoke with the complainant and an employee. The employee stated he had confronted Christina Trummer, 44, of Strykersville, after she had allegedly stolen items from the store. Trummer was found with cheese curds in her possession and was subsequently charged with petit larceny on request from the store manager.

Trummer was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny and she is to appear at Sheldon Town Court on February 25th, 2018 at 6:30pm to answer for the charges.
