BATAVIA/Police investigating break-ins at city businesses

The Batavia Police Department is investigating several weekend break-ins that occurred on Friday and Saturday.

According to Police, three businesses in the Center/Ellicott street area were broken into sometime between the hours of 4-8p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The suspect(s) targeted Batavia Bargains, the Cutting Shack and Wescott Motors. Police say nothing was taken, but several businesses suffered damage to windows and doors and were ransacked inside.

A fourth business, The Dog & Cat Wellness Clinic at 56 Harvester was also targeted. The suspect(s) broke a large front window to make entry. It is unknown if anything was taken, police were still on scene investigating.

A fifth business, located on Jackson street was also targeted, but the suspect(s) could not make entry.
