STATE POLICE/Albion/Pennsylvania correctional officer charged after stealing purse

On November 21, 2018,  a medina woman contacted the State Police in Albion reporting that her purse containing personal items and $700.00 in currency had been stolen from her shopping cart at the Albion Wal Mart.

After an extensive investigation, Troopers arrested Jeromy T. Farr, 47 of Olean, NY and charged him with petit larceny.

Trooper Douglas Rich, working along with Wal Mart loss prevention, was able to obtain video surveillance showing Farr take the purse and place it into his vehicle.  Loss prevention was able to retrace Farr’s actions within the store to the check out where he purchased the items.  Information obtained from the debit card used in the transaction led to confirming Farr’s identity.

On January 15, 2019, Farr responded to State Police Barracks in Albion where he was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Albion Court on January 23, 2019 at 9:00 am.

Farr is reported to be employed as a correction officer with the McKean County Jail in Smethport, Pennsylvania.
