WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Castile man charged after an accident

William Houck, 27, of Castile, was arrested following a one vehicle accident on Route 19A in the Town of Genesee Falls on January 18, 2019.

Houck was operating his vehicle southbound on Route 19A and left the road and struck a guide rail. Houck is charged with felony DWI, failure to keep right, and speed not reasonable and prudent. He refused to submit to a chemical test which resulted in his license being suspended.

Houck posted $1500 bail and is due back in the Town of Genesee Falls Court on February 13, 2019. Houck was previously convicted of DWI in the Town of Pike on April 25, 2017 after an arrest on August 13, 2016 made by the NYSP involving a motor vehicle accident.

Following a traffic stop on State Route 20a in the Town of Perry on January 19, 2019, Kevin T. Wolf, 29, of Canaseraga, was charged with felony DWAI/ drugs.

Wolf was stopped by Deputies for a brake light violation and following roadside testing, was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for a drug influence evaluation.

The evaluation was completed by a certified Drug Recognition Expert and Wolf was determined to be impaired by multiple drug categories. Wolf is charged with inadequate brake lamp, felony driving while ability impaired by a drug, and felony driving while ability impaired by a combination of drugs.

The arrest is a felony due to Wolf having a previous 2009 DWI Conviction.

Wolf was arraigned in the Village of Perry Court and committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,500 bond. Wolf will return to Town Court on February 6, 2019.

Kyler L. Cavalcante Bezerra, 19, of Livonia, was arrested following a traffic stop on North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw. Cavalcante Bezerra was stopped for traffic infractions which had taken place on North Maple Street in the Village of Warsaw on January 26, 2019.

During the traffic stop, Cavalcante Bezerra was found to be in possession of concentrated cannabis, and a passenger inside of the vehicle was found to be consuming an alcoholic beverage in the back seat.

Cavalcante Bezerra was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th.

Following processing at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Cavalcante Bezerra was released with an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Warsaw Court on February 18, 2019. The passenger in the back seat, 21 year old Dylan M. Hill of Leicester, NY, was issued a traffic ticket for Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and given the same court date.

On January 18, 2019, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Eagan of Perry, for Petit Larceny. It was discovered that Eagan stole items from the Warsaw Walmart. All items were recovered and returned to the store. Eagan is to answer her charges in the Warsaw Town Court in March.

On January 20, 2019 Justin J. Caryl, 31, of Castile, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd on State Route 19 in the Town of Gainesville following a traffic stop for an equipment violation.

Caryl was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in Gainesville Town Court on February 11, 2019 to answer to the charges.

On January 18, 2019, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Eagan, 37, of Perry, for Petit Larceny. It was discovered that Eagan stole items from the Warsaw Walmart. All items were recovered and returned to the store. Eagan is to answer her charges in the Warsaw Town Court in March.

Joseph G. Vasquez, 19, of Warsaw, was arrested following a traffic complaint on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw on January 19, 2019 . Deputy Jorgensen responded to a call of a vehicle in the creek. During the investigation, it was discovered that Vasquez traveled off of the roadway, over an embankment and into a creek.

Vasquez failed roadside field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs.

He is charged with DWAI/Drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of alcohol under 21, and moving from a lane unsafely. Vasquez was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in Warsaw Court at a later date.

Alex Carroll, 27, of Java, NY was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 78 in the Town of Java on January 19, 2019. Carroll was observed swerving in and out of his lane of travel and speeding, 85 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone.

Carroll failed roadside sobriety tests and submitted to a chemical test which showed his BAC to be above 0.18%. Carroll is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and speed above 55 MPH.

He was issued appearance tickets and is due back in the Town of Java Court on February 6, 2019.

On January 18, 2019, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Eagan, 37, of Perry, for petit larceny. It was discovered that Eagan stole items from the Warsaw Walmart. All items were recovered and returned to the store. Eagan is to answer her charges in the Warsaw Town Court in March.

On January 22, 2019, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Curriers Road in the Town of Java. Upon arrival, the responding Deputy observed that the vehicle in question, crossed over the oncoming lane and crashed into the ditch on the opposite side of the road.

The driver had been attempting to get out, and had left ruts in the bank for about 200 feet. Upon talking to the driver, David Wagner, 60, of Arcade, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage could be detected. Wagner was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. Wagner was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test. Wagner was issued summons for the following: failed to keep the right, DWI, and aggravated DWI with over .18% BAC.

Wagner was released to a sober party and is to answer the charges on February 20, 2019 at the Java Town Court.
