GENESEE COUNTY/Sex offender in Batavia fails to report address change

Scott J. Hinze, 52, of West Main St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with sex offender failed to report address change within 10 days, a felony, and falsifying business record 1st, a felony, after he allegedly failed to register his change of address as a sex offender within 10 days to the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Sex Offender Registry.

During the investigation, conducted by Deputy Erik Andre, Hinze allegedly falsified a sex offender address change document at the Genesee County Jail in the City of Batavia on February 11, 2019.

Hinze was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on March 4, 2019. He was also issued an appearance ticket for the falsifying business records charge, returnable to City of Batavia Court, and will appear there on March 5, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
