Six people were living at the address, which is rental property owned by Barbara McDonald. All are being assisted by the Red Cross this evening, after an overheated extension cord connected to an electric space heater caused $85,000 in damages.
The apartment house is considered a total loss. No one was injured.

Also assisting on scene was Wyoming County Emergency Services, Attica Police, and National Grid.
This is so sad to read. Our father and mother lived in this beautiful, spotless ,well maintained home for well over fifty plus years;however, unfortunately this fire could have been prevented, but thank the good Lord all occupants were not hurt.
We still have many wonderful memories of 10 Washington St.
I grew up next door to your parents. I still live there. Your dad was an interesting guy. I have lots of memories of both your parents. We shared the driveway with them. When i got my first car, i parked it in the backyard on our grass. I would start it periodically. Your dad surprised me one day and jumped into the passenger seat next to me while i was letting it idle in the backyard. Had to be the summer of 92
First he gave me a little lexture because he didnt like my car parked in the backyard so long. Took me a year to get it on the road. Then he started telling me when i was your age stories and about cars he had. I dont remember all the details of our conversation, but I remember we both had a good time chatting after he lextured me on getting my car on the road :). He gave me many lectures over the years. Both when i was growing up my house, and after i bought it from my parents. No offense to other neighbors i had, but your parents were the greatest neighbors that i had living in that house. We stilll tend to say the Bottone’s house when we talk about the house.
