Jessy L. Miller, 32, of Medina is charged with reckless endangerment 1st, a class D felony, fleeing a police officer in a vehicle 3rd and aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, a class E felony after a pursuit that spread across Orleans, Genesee and Niagara counties on March 4, 2019.
Miller was arrested on March 10, 2019 and arraigned in Alabama Town court. He is being held in the Genesee County Jail on cash bail.
The incident started in Medina, where Miller’s vehicle struck a house after doing donuts in a yard. Medina Police arrived on scene and Miller fled the area in his SUV.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office then pursued the vehicle after it left the scene in Medina, and as it headed south into Genesee County. The State Police and Genesee County Sheriff’s Office were advised of the incident.
State Police came into contact with Miller’s vehicle on Judge road near Griffin road in Alabama. Trooper James O’Callaghan says both Miller and the female were ordered to get out of the vehicle. The female got out of the vehicle and Miller put the SUV into reverse and the female was struck with the open door. Miller then went forward with the vehicle and the female was struck again by the door.
After the incident, the female was transported to ECMC by ambulance with unknown injuries.
Trooper O’Callaghan says the pursuit was terminated and police came across the SUV by luck in a parking lot after it was involved in a crash south of Middleport in Niagara County.
The investigation is ongoing.
