Two Rochester men are in jail after allegedly stealing two go-carts and a three wheeler from Batavia Cycle Center at 4988 East Main road in the Town of Batavia.
Deputies responded to a call for a suspicious condition after a witness reported seeing a white pickup truck leaving the shop hauling a trailer about 2:15a.m. Thursday morning.
The pick up truck and trailer were stopped a short time later on Rt. 33 in the area of Coward road. The two go-carts and the three wheeler were on the trailer being towed by the truck.
The driver of the truck was identified as Devin A. Hill, 18, of Rochester. The passenger in the truck, Angel I. Carrasquillo, 43, of Rochester, fled on foot into a field. He was later located walking in the area of Warner road and Rt. 33.
Hill and Carrasquillo are both charged with grand larceny 3rd, burglary 3rd and criminal mischief 4th.
Hill was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Carrasquillo was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and jailed without bail.
The incident is being investigated by Deputy Mullen, Deputy Andre, Sgt. Biaocco, Sgt. Sanfratello, Inv. Parker and Inv. Minuto. Also assiting were members of the Batavia Police Department, NYS Police and ENCON Officer Fuerch.
