BATAVIA/Fresenius Kidney Care cuts the ribbon on new facility

Fresenius Kidney Care, the country’s leading network of dialysis facilities, cut the ribbon on their new facility on Veteran’s Memorial Drive on Friday night. The facility will service 108 people and employ 10 people. It is located next to Home Depot.

“As the operation grows, we will expand to six days a week, Monday through Saturday,” says Kenneth Crine, Director of Operations.

The facility will be open to patients Monday, Wednesday and Friday at first from 6-4p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday hours will then be added.

“We noticed there was a need and a lot of patients were being displaced to the Rochester area which is a 45 minute drive. We felt that we can service the patient better by bringing the service local.”

Dialysis is a treatment that filters and purifies the blood using a machine. This helps keep your body in balance when the kidneys can’t perform this function.

Crine says he has a very seasoned staff from all disciplines, registered nurses, practical nurses, patient care technicians, social workers and dieticians.

Fresenius operates just under 2500 clinics in the United States and they are in every state. They also have locations in 14 countries.
