STATE POLICE/Rochester man arrested for Leandra’s Law DWI following a traffic stop on the thruway in Pembroke

Pembroke, NY – On May 19, 2019, at approximately 1:24 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 for vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle, Eduardo Santiago, 53, of Rochester, NY, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with his 3-year-old child. 

Santiago was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Henrietta.   The child was turned over to a responsible party.    

Santiago’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.14% and he was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony and Vehicle and Traffic Violations.  He was turned over to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Pembroke Court on May 28, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.
