BATAVIA/Yellow wreath in remembrance of gun control victims/orange wreath for gun violence awareness day

2AWNY.COM/Steve Felano laid a yellow wreath in front of Genesee County Building One to remember the millions of global deaths that have occurred as a direct result of tyrannical gun control policies last Friday.

The remembrance ceremony was a precursor to national Gun Control Victims Awareness Month, which spans the month of June 2019.

According to Felano, yellow is the official color of national Gun Control Victims Awareness Month because it symbolizes the mind, intellect, and logic. These are faculties possessed by those who recognize, via empirical data, that gun control is an illogical, emotion-based security deception for grown adults that does nothing to reduce ‘gun violence.’

June 7, 2019, is National Gun Control Victims Awareness Day.

Last Saturday, Moms Demand Action laid and orange wreath at the Holland Land Office and are asking people to wear orange to raise awareness of victims and survivors of gun violence in our country.

“We have no problem with gun ownership, but we recognize that with all freedoms come responsibility,” says Carol Kistner, Outreach Coordinator for Genesee County.

“We want responsible gun ownership, we are blessed to have so many responsible gun owners in the county that can model good gun ownership practices, safety, safe storage, teaching and educating about gun safety to children and people in our communities. But we recognize in spite of our community of safe gun owners, our country is in a crisis, and so our intent today was to raise awareness of that crisis.”

Kistner encourages people to wear orange on June 7th as it is the color of the sportsman in the woods and they wear that color to stay safe in the woods. She says it is also a symbol of human life.
