GENESEE COUNTY/Man damages phone system at jail after allegedly plugging the toilet in his holding cell

On April 23, 2019, the Genesee County Jail inmate phone system was damaged after Kevin Waleski, 31, of Batavia, allegedly plugged the toilet in his holding cell causing a flood.

The water ended up in the basement of the jail and shorted out the phone system’s electronics.

Waleski is charged with criminal mischief 2nd, a class D felony.

He was arraigned in City Court on June 3, 2019 and was jailed without bail.

Previously–

Kevin M. Waleski, 31, of Orchard street, Oakfield is charged with attempted trespass 2nd and harassment 2nd after a reported physical altercation where Waleski attempted to enter a residence unlawfully on West Main street on June 2, 2019 at 12:17a.m.

While in custody and being transported to UMMC for treatment, Waleski began to physically resist patrols and was also charged with obstruction of governmental administration 2nd.

He was arraigned in City Court and jailed on $2,500 cash or bond bail.

Waleski re-appeared in court on June 3, 2019.
