On June 8, 2019, at about 4:51p.m, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a vehicle into a house on Route 20A in the Town of Perry.
Brian R. Barnard, 55, of Perry, was found to have been operating a dump truck eastbound on Route 20A near Suckerbrook Road and suffered a medical issue.
Barnard attempted to pull into the driveway at 6785 Route 20A and was unable to stop. The dump truck struck the kitchen area of the home causing substantial damage to the home and truck.
No one was home at the time of the incident.
Barnard was transported to Wyoming County Community Hospital by Perry Ambulance to receive treatment for his medical issue.
A license check on Barnard found that he had 9 active suspensions on his license along with two active warrants for his arrest.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office arrested Barnard at the Hospital and charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd, reckless driving, and failure to surrender a suspended license. Barnard was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Perry Court on July 3, 2019.
Deputies also arrested Barnard on the active warrant issued by the New York State Police – Troop A. Barnard was turned over to the State Police and arraigned on their charges in the Town of Leroy.
