BATAVIA/Opening night for the Muckdogs season, some welcome changes at Dwyer

Crews are putting the icing on the cake at Dwyer Stadium in preparation for tonight’s home opener against the Auburn Double Days.

“Its a brand new look for Batavia,” says Head Groundskeeper Cooper Thomson.

“We are touching up the infield and things are ready to go. Really everything is brand new, the cutouts, bases, distances, heights, mound elevations and home plate. Tommy Lawless is going to bring great baseball to the team and it should be a good season.’

While most of the changes are cosmetic, there are some new things to expect at the stadium.

“The Baseline Bar” is located on the first and third baselines with high-top table and chairs,” says Brendan Kelly, General Manager.

“We will now carry an all vegan dog, its called carrot dog from Eden Café in Batavia. Sahlen’s hot dogs are the new official hot dog of the team and if you enjoy Craft beer, tonight is Crafty hour from 6-7p.m.”

Eli Fish will present two new beers tonight at $3.00 each.

There are still tickets available for tonight’s game.

Gates open at 6:00p.m. and game time is 7:05. Tickets range from $8-$11 and are available up to the 7th inning.

“We have filled up most of the lower reserve seating areas and the upper general admissions as well. There will be tickets available if fans want to stop down to the box office or order online”
