Deputy Hope observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on June 9, 2019. Following a traffic stop the operator of the vehicle, Brian Smith, 45,of NY,NY, was found to be in possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle on a suspended driver’s license, and under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Smith was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Smith is to appear in Sheldon Town Court on June 25, 2019 to answer to the charges.
On June 16, 2019, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Route 78 and Pit Road in the Town of Java for a report of a one car accident with no injuries.
Upon arrival, Deputies located the lone occupant of the vehicle, Jessica M. Schaeffer, 35, of Chaffee, roadside and detected possible signs of impairment.
Schaeffer performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for DWI.
A breath test was administered at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and Schaeffer was charged with aggravated DWI with a BAC greater than .18%, driving with .08% BAC or higher, DWI, failure to stop at stop sign, failure to keep right, moving from a lane unsafely and speed not reasonable and prudent.
She was processed and released on appearance tickets to a sober third party with a return court date scheduled for June 26, 2019 at 6:30p.m. in the Town of Java Court.
On June 12, 2019, Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Route 39 in the Town of Arcade after observing Danielle Kopinski, 47, of Arcade was operating the vehicle, who was known to have a revoked driver’s license.
Deputies spoke with Kopinski, who had 4 active revocations on her license from prior DWI offenses. She was taken in custody and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd, operating out of a court ordered interlock restriction, and unlicensed operator.
Kopinski was issued appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Arcade Court on June 27, 2019 at 7:00p.m. to answer the charges.
On June 14, 2019, Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies responded to 286 Sinn Road in the Town of Bennington for a report of damage to the outside entry door of a residence.
Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the homeowner who stated that the damages were caused by Alycia A. Baran, 31, of Bennington.
After obtaining a statement, Deputies responded to an address on Kern Road and located Baran. She is charged with criminal mischief 4th
Baran was arraigned in the Village of Attica court and released with a return court date of June 24, 2019 at 6:00p.m in the Town of Bennington Court.
A full stay away order of protection was also issued and served during the arraignment.
Adam Khanshali, 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on June 15, 2019.
Khanshali was stopped for speeding, 82 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs.
Marijuana was found inside the vehicle, and passenger Nashwan Ahary, 21, also of Brooklyn, was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana.
Khanshali was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and determined to be impaired by Cannabis.
Khanshari was charged with Driving While Impaired by Drugs, speed above 55, inadequate tail lights, and unlicensed operator. He was arraigned in the Town of Sheldon Court and committed to Wyoming County Jail on $500 bail. He is to appear in court on June 25, 19.
Ahary was released on an appearance ticket for the same court date.

Following an investigation into theft of services on June 3, 2019, John S. Smithers, 57, of Arcade, was arrested for criminal tampering 2nd degree and theft of services.
Smithers allegedly connected a power wire from a working electrical box to his own electrical box in order to obtain electricity to his residence.
Smithers was issued appearance tickets and is to appear in Arcade Town Court on a later date.
On June 13, 2019, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Route 20A in the Town of Perry, for a reported Limousine bus accident.
It was reported that the limo bus had struck a utility pole and that there were an unknown amount of injuries.
Upon arrival, Deputies observed that the limo bus, belonging to Executive Transport Services, had been traveling West on Route 20A prior to the accident.
The limo had veered off the north side of the roadway, drove through two utility poles and damaged about 200 feet of guardrail. The driver of the vehicle advised that he blacked out and was unsure of what had happened.
Six female passengers were in the vehicle at the time. Two of them sustained minor injuries and signed off at the scene.
The driver of the limo was transported to WCCH to be checked out.
Assisting at the scene was Perry Ambulance, Perry Center Fire Department, and NYSEG.
