Bentley T. Greene, 68, of Pike, was arrested following a traffic complaint on June 20, 2019. Greene was operating a vehicle which was called in for erratic operation on Middle Reservation Road in the Town of Castile.
The vehicle was last seen by the 911 caller on Glen Iris Road in the Town of Castile at which time contact was lost with the vehicle.
A short time later, the same vehicle was found by a separate 911 caller unoccupied on Lamont Road in the Town of Pike. The vehicle had been southbound when it drifted off the west side of the roadway, struck a bridge, and then came to a rest partially off the west shoulder of Lamont Road.
The operator, Bentley T. Greene, was located at his residence where it was determined Greene had fallen asleep at the wheel multiple times while driving. Greene was found to have ultimately fallen asleep just prior to striking the bridge on Lamont Road.
Greene was issued one misdemeanor traffic citation for reckless driving. Greene is to answer the charge in the Town of Pike Court on July 16, 2019.
On June 23, 2019, Dequan J. Schuler, 24, of Cheektowaga was arrested following a traffic stop on Denton Corners Road, in the Town of Pike.
Schuler was stopped by deputies following a registration check that showed his registration was suspended for an insurance lapse. While investigating the insurance lapse, it was found that a passenger inside of the vehicle had an active order of protection against Schuler.
Schuler was arrested and charged with criminal contempt 2nd, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, unlawful possession of marijuana, operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and uninspected motor vehicle.
Schuler was arraigned in the Town of Pike Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to re-appear in court on June 25, 2019.
Connor M. Lorkowski, 19, of Machias, was arrested June 17, 2019, by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop on Genesee Road in the Town of Arcade.
Lorkowski was observed driving off the shoulder of the roadway and crossing the center line numerous times, and failing to stop at a stop sign. Lorkowski was stopped by deputies and following a road side investigation, was subsequently arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs.
He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and underwent a drug influence evaluation and was determined to be impaired by drugs.
Lorkowski is charged with failure to keep right, driving across hazard markings, failure to stop at a stop sign, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and DWAI Drugs.
He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Arcade Court at a later date.
Raymond Dawkins, 32, of Rochester, was arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop on Wyoming Road in the Town of Covington on June 12, 2019.
Dawkins was observed failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of Wyoming Road and Route 19 and subsequently stopped. Dawkins was found to be operating with a non-drivers ID only and had four active suspensions on his license.
He is charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to signal, uninspected motor vehicle, unlicensed operation, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree. He was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Covington Court on July 22nd. A valid operator removed the vehicle from the scene.
