Shawn A. Mang, 46, of Arcade, was arrested following a traffic stop on Robinson Road in the Town of Eagle on June 26, 2019. Mang, who was wanted on an outstanding Bench Warrant signed by Arcade Town Court, was observed driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota on Robinson Road.
Mang was pulled over as he entered a driveway on Robinson Road and was immediately taken into custody on the warrant. He was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Mang also had an expired NYS driver’s license since 2010, and had 20 active suspensions/revocations dating back to 2008.
He also failed field sobriety testing on scene and was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. A check of Mang’s history showed him to have a prior conviction for DWI in December, 2009 in the Town of Aurora. He refused to submit to a chemical test, and he refused further testing relating to his drug impairment.
Mang is charged with the following;
Felony Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree
Unlicensed Operation
Uninspected Motor Vehicle
He was arraigned in the Town of Eagle Court where his license was suspended for his failure to submit to a chemical test, and a DMV refusal hearing was set for a later date.
Mang was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond, and he was scheduled for further proceedings in the Town of Eagle Court on September 16, 2019.
He was additionally scheduled to return to the Arcade Town Court on July 11, 2019 for further proceedings on his case regarding the bench warrant.
The Wyoming County Drug Task Force assisted at the scene of the traffic stop.
On June 28, 2019 at approximately 9:05p.m., Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies were patrolling Route 39 in the Town of Castile and observed a vehicle traveling northbound with an inadequate passenger side tail lamp and following too closely.
Upon stopping the vehicle, Deputies spoke with the 17 year old male operator and observed signs of possible impairment. Deputies also detected the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle.
The teen was asked to submit to field sobriety testing and performed poorly, at which point a Drug Influence Evaluation was conducted by a certified Drug Recognition Expert.
Following the evaluation, the 17 year old male was determined to be impaired by drugs and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. The male was charged with DWAI/Drugs, following too closely, inadequate tail lamps and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Appearance tickets were issued and the teen is scheduled to return to the Town of Castile court on July 15, 2019.
On June 28, 2019 at approximately 4:52p.m., Wyoming County Sheriff Deputies were patrolling Route 39 in the Town of Arcade and observed a vehicle traveling eastbound with unreadable license plates.
Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the operator, Gerald R. Sullivan Jr, 24, of Delevan, Deputies began to observe signs of possible impairment.
Sullivan was asked to submit to field sobriety testing and performed poorly, at which point a Drug Influence Evaluation was conducted by a certified Drug Recognition Expert.
Following the evaluation, Sullivan was deemed to be impaired by drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Sullivan is charged with DWAI/ Drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, no distinctive plate/unreadable, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to return to the Town of Arcade Court on July 18, 2019.
On June 30, 2019 at approximately 2:30a.m., James R. Machado, 54, of New Castle, DE, was arrested following a traffic stop on Perry Avenue in the Town of Castile.
Machado was stopped for failing to dim headlights and towing a trailer without functioning lights. Machado failed field sobriety testing and was found to be impaired by alcohol.
Machado is charged with failure to dim headlights, lighting violation of a trailer and DWI.
He was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court where he was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2500.00 cash bail or $5000.00 bond. Machado is to appear in the Town of Castile Justice Court at a later date.
