On August 11th, 2019, at around 2:40a.m., Officer Harding was patrolling on North Center Street when he observed a vehicle traveling southbound with an expired registration.
A traffic stop was initiated on Standpipe Road and the driver was identified as Rachel E. Bennett, 36, of Perry.
Officer Harding believed Bennett may be intoxicated and started a roadside DWI investigation. Following standardized field sobriety testing, Bennett was placed under arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Bennett was transported to the Perry Police Department where she was processed and charged with unregistered motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, and driving with a BAC of 0.08% or more. She was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Perry Court at a later date.
