Keeler Construction has been on location on Walnut street for most of the day installing a pre-engineered bridge over the Tonawanda Creek to complete the Ellicott Trail Project.
The 15 ton, 56,000 pound bridge was being held by a barge in the water and two lines on either side of the creek. Dickinsons heavy wrecker was called in to help hold the barge steady in the current as it was pulled across the creek.
The 4.5 mile bike trail will run from Seven Springs road to Dewey avenue.
They are hoping to have it open by the end of October. The trail will be open from dawn to dusk.
