GENESEE COUNTY/Williamsville man dies in Pembroke motorcycle accident

On August 19, 2019 at about 7:02p.m., deputies responded to 1027 Sliker road in Pembroke for a report of a male laying in a field unconscious. The male had no pulse, was not breathing and had been involved in a motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, patrols assisted the Pembroke, Indian Falls and Alabama Fire Departments along with Mercy EMS with an active CPR in progress. The male was identified as Michael N. Block, 60, of Williamsville, NY. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Block was operating his 2000 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Sliker road and failed to navigate a left hand curve and lost control of his motorcycle. Block exited the north shoulder of the roadway and traveled through a hedge row and struck several trees and lost his helmet that was found wedged in a tree before coming to rest in an open field.

The crash is under investigation.

The crash is being investigated by Chief Deputy Brian Frieday, Sgt. Michael Lute, Inv. Howard Carlson, Deputy Mathew Clor and Deputy Andrew Mullen. Accident reconstruction was completed by Sgt. James Diehl and Deputy Kyle Krzemien. Also assisting on scene was Dickinson’s Towing agency.
