On August 14, 2019, at approximately 4:00p.m., Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on South Main Street in the Village of Warsaw.
Deputies observed Joseph Richardson, 33, of Pike, operating the vehicle, who was known to have a revoked New York State driver’s license due to a previous arrest for driving while intoxicated. After further investigation, Deputies believe that Richardson was operating the vehicle in an impaired condition.
Richardson refused to cooperate with further testing and was subsequently arrested and charged with DWAI Drugs – felony, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, operating out of ignition interlock restriction, and unlicensed operator.
He was processed and arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court, where he was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail without bail.
Richardson is scheduled to return to the Village of Warsaw Court on September 9, 2019 at 5:00p.m. for further proceedings.
On August 15, 2019, at approximately 8:55p.m., Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Vernal Road, in the Town of Middlebury, following several complaints involving the use of firearms.
After further investigation, two subjects who reside at that location were charged as follows:
Cody M. Landin, 31, of Middlebury is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 2nd – loaded firearm, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd – prior conviction of serious offense, criminal sale of a firearm 3rd degree, and criminal possession of a weapon 4th – shotgun/serious offense.
Alexander E. Dills, 28, of Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 2nd – loaded firearm, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd – prior conviction of serious offense, criminal possession of a weapon 4th – shotgun/serious offense, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th Degree (x2), and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Middlebury court and committed to the Wyoming County Jail. LANDIN was held in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, and DILLS was held on $1,000 cash or $5,000 bond.
On August 7, 2019, at approximately 9:19p.m., Deputies began an investigation after receiving a report of a male leaving a residence on Route 20A in the Town of Perry, operating a vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Further investigation resulted in a traffic stop on Leicester Street in the Village of Perry.
Standardized field sobriety testing showed the male operator, Michael W. Smith, 50, of Perry was allegedly intoxicated. Smith refused to provide a breath sample and was subsequently charged with DWI– a felony, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st Degree, operating out of ignition interlock restriction, and refusal to take a breath test.
Smith was arraigned in the Village of Perry court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. A return court date is scheduled for the Town of Perry Court on September 4, 2019.
On August 14, 2019 at approximately 8:07p.m., Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department responded to 7273 Morrow Road, the Hilltop Acres trailer park, to investigate a 911 hang-up call.
Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with residents in the area and responded to the area of the reported domestic disturbance. Deputies made contact with both individuals involved in the incident, and further investigation revealed that Scott L. Billings, 20, of Covington had caused damage to the residence during the incident. Billings was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He was arraigned in the Village of Perry Court and was released on his own recognizance, with a return court date scheduled for October 14, 2019 in the Town of Covington Court.
Following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville, Joshua M Stitt, 20, of Conesus is charged with displaying a forged certificate without inspection and operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate. Stitt was released with appearance tickets and is to appear in Orangeville Town Court on August 28, 2019 to answer to the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
