On August 24, 2019, the Perry Police Department was called to a local business for a report of vehicle operator possibly intoxicated.
Upon arrival, Officers Spink and Harding observed 29 year old Rachel Womer, of Perry, exit the business and further investigation showed Womer was possibly showing signs of impairment.
A field sobriety test was then conducted.
After performing poorly on the field test, Womer was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A breath test performed at the Perry Police Department showed Womer had a blood alcohol content of .17%.
Further investigation revealed Womer operated the vehicle with two children under the age of 16.
Womer is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC higher than .08, two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Womer was arraigned in Perry Village Court in front of Honorable Judge Miller. She was released and will return to court on September 17, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
